Installation
installation Instructions
Our units are easy to install and can be incorporated in to any existing space with minimal demolition or labor.
We produce our units to be installed by the end user with minimal to no installation experience.
Still thinking you need help with install? We do offer installation services by request, please inquire.
- All units are installed on a wall hung rail system: Rails will come cut to size up to 8' long. If your closets are over 8' we supply multiple pieces that will need to be field cut in order to hit a stud!
- Start by measuring from the floor or the bottom of the longest vertical panel up to where the hanger will sit on the rail in order to mark where the wall rail will hang. Be sure to subtract the distance from the top of the rail to where the holes will be drilled into the studs in wall. *Use a stud finder to make sure the rail is hung and set on studs in wall! If a stud cannot be found, always use a heavy duty drywall anchor!
- Please note: We do NOT supply screws to hang the hang rail, we reccommend using at least a 2" long screw in order to securely fasten to a stud.
- Rail is then covered with a cap & steel hangers are attached to verticals and hang on rail.
- Steel hangers are later hidden with hanger covers.
- Tops, decks, and fixed shelves are attached with a rafix bolt & cam lock rafix for a secure sturdy fit.
- All rods and shelves are cut to size at our shop for easy install
- Adjustable shelves are easily installed with shelf pins
- All units come with plan elevations marked with numbers, the parts will also be tagged with a number which coincides where each part/panel should be located in your design.
CLOSET HARDWARE FOR INSTALL
Pozi (euro) screws
Pozi screws will be used to attach the steel hangers to vertical panels where needed. If you have drawers in your storage unit, these will also attach the drawer guides to the vertical panels. (Panels will be drilled so you can see where guides should be placed.)
Rafix bolts
Rafix bolts will also attach to vertical panels where any fixed shelf will be placed. For example all tops and decks (bottom shelves) will be fixed. Most longer units will also have a fixed shelf some where near the center of the unit.
Rafix (cam Locks)
Rafix will be hammered into fixed shelves. Any horizontal shelves that are fixed and should receive a rafix will be drilled out to easily show where these should be placed. Rafix should be hammered into shelves with a soft head hammer. Once fixed shelves are placed onto rafix bolts, simply use a screwdriver to screw into place. You will see and feel the unit tighten. Rafix come in a variety of colors to coordinate with your closet color choice
Deck Rafix
Deck rafix will be used in any place where a fixed shelf cannot be tightened. For example any units with a toe kick, will have a bottom deck shelf drilled to receive a deck rafix. These bottom shelf panels will easily fit onto the rafix bolts and sit in place without needing tightened with a screwdriver. Make sure the flat open end faces out!
Steel Hangers
Steel hangers will be placed onto the vertical panels where needed. (There will be drilled holes on the top section of a vertical panel if it receives a hanger.) These hangers are what holds the panels onto the steel rail. (There are right and left hangers, the hanger hook should always face out.)
Hanger Covers
After installation is complete, a color coordinated hanger cover will be placed over the steel hangers to conceal them. These covers slide into place over the hanger. (There are right and left hanger covers.)
Shelf Pins
Shelf pins are used to placed adjustable shelves where they're wanted. Simply place pins in holes where any adjustable shelf is to be placed. (Shelf pins will come in a color to coordinate with your closet rods.)
Closet Rod Ends
Closet rod ends are placed in any holes where you would like a closet rod. Rod ends will be coordinated with your closet rod color. (We offer, chrome, matte nickel, and oil rubbed bronze.)
Some closets are designed with more custom parts ie: shoe fence, wire baskets, drawers, etc. Please let us know you have any questions about the installation of a hardware part or accessory.
